“International Children’s Day” is a day of fun and play. Exactly this was the atmosphere for those present at the charity event organized at our headquarters. However, the event was also an opportunity for children and adults to discover that joy shared with others is special. Thus, on 1st of June became a form of well-being.
To mark this special day, Adina Stiftelsen Foundation organized creative activities for children for educational, recreative and communitarian purpose.
All the activities were designed to combine fun and learning, and the children used their imagination and creativity while also understanding the importance of solidarity. Real support begins with the happy voices of the children.
On 1st of June, Play Became a Way to Do Good
The Adina Foundation set up several workshops, with different themes and activities, thus ensuring that all participants found something to their liking. The activities were interactive and designed to be fun and educational. Supported by the experienced trainers from the foundation, the participants used their imagination and hands. The adults around them made sure that the little participants felt seen, supported, and loved.
Creativity and Color at the Jewelry Workshop
During the jewelry workshop, children were able to make personalized bracelets using beads in different shapes and colors. Under the guidance of Larisa, a volunteer of the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation, the participating children exercised their imagination and practical skills, being very happy and proud of the bracelets they made. It was a joyful and creative activity.
Robotics Workshop - Technology and Teamwork
Several children present at the event chose to participate in the robotics workshop. The foundation’s RoboMech team has won numerous awards in related competitions, and that is why the members were delighted to be able to share their experience and joy. Mihai, the coach and coordinator of the First Lego League workshops within the foundation, explained to the participants the basic principles of building and manipulating robots. All the children were captivated and happy with this activity.
Patience and Handicraft at the Candle Making Workshop
The children also had the opportunity to participate in a candle-making workshop. Georgiana guided them, explaining step-by-step the process of creating a candle, from melting the wax and choosing a flavor to pouring it into molds and decorating.
Each activity was an occasion for joy and socializing for the little ones, but also an opportunity to understand how much it matters to do good. The parents present at the event also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the programs and mission of the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation.
The donations obtained from the workshops will be used to finance the organization’s 7 socio-educational programs , and for this we are grateful to everyone who participated. Every little help is actually a chance for a child from a rural area to have a better future.
Play and Creativity for Charity
For the children who came to the foundation’s headquarters, the event was an opportunity for personal development and learning. Everyone present was encouraged to express their creativity and collaborate with each other, as the purpose of the event was connection. Such events aim for everyone to feel like they are part of a community where members support each other.
The importance of this event is linked to the mission of the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation. The Foundation provides educational support through a holistic approach, addressed to both children and young people, from kindergarten to integration into the labor market. Education is seen as the formation of the necessary skills to have a healthy life with oneself and with those around them.
Moreover, the impact of the event was also felt by the children who were not present, because children and young people who are in vulnerable situations are supported with the help of the money that were donated. The foundation helps children from vulnerable backgrounds to go to school, focusing on making them happy and feeling valued. This event is proof that involvement can make a difference.
Participants were happy to contribute to a better future for a child or young person. “Children’s Day” was about building a community, love and the power of doing good, no matter how small.
The Connection between Play, Education and Development
For the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation, education is not about simply transmitting information, but transmitting it through play. For a child, play is the way they discover the world. That is why it is necessary to create a context in which children feel safe and curious to learn new things. Play allows them to learn, communicate effectively and work in a team. During a game, children learn strategy, learn to make decisions, and create things.
At the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation, we believe that learning can be enjoyable, which is why we make sure that this is the method we always use. The charitable setting of the June 1 event added another dimension to learning, because participants learned that personal joy is not the only thing that matters.
They were also able to see how acts of charity, community and friendship can change someone’s life. There is a clear connection between play and education, which our foundation tries to use for the benefit of the children and young people we work with.
Non-formal educational programs play an important role in the foundation’s mission. Unlike the formal setting, which values only grades, the informal setting focuses on developing the skills needed in everyday life, on collaboration and exploration. Within the 7 programs supported by our organization, no child feels evaluated and judged, but educated and appreciated.
An Atmosphere Full of Emotions and Smiles
Throughout the event, the atmosphere was full of emotions. Curiosity was imprinted on the faces of all the children, along with enthusiasm and genuine joy. Thanks to the smiles and laughter of the children, the parents felt relaxed, enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and showed interest in the objectives and results of the organization.
The most important thing for the workshop coordinators was that each child felt welcome, so that they could fully engage in the creative process. Parents could enjoy a moment of relaxation, being with their children. At the work tables, the children used their imagination to the fullest, thus discovering the magic of manual work.
The volunteers also played a key role, being extremely involved and completely changing the energy of the event. Their presence brought an extra warmth and closeness, transforming every interaction into a positive experience. Together with the parents, they supported and encouraged the children in all their activities.
The event succeeded in uniting people for a common cause, demonstrating that beautiful things can be done when the community gets involved. All participants were charged with good energy.
The volunteers and Team of the Adina Stiftelsen Foundation – the people behind the results
It is important to recognize the role of the volunteers and the team, who made this event possible. Our foundation is based on the idea of volunteerism and community. All our programs need volunteers to carry out their activities. In an organization of this type, the role of volunteers is fundamental. An organization can only make a difference if there are people present who are really involved.
As for the “Children’s Day” event, both volunteers and Adina Stiftelsen Foundation team members prepared the activities, organized the space and were constantly with the participants, encouraging them to explore, create and trust their own ideas. All the people involved in the foundation’s work contribute to an environment where children learn and have fun safely. The 1st of June event is proof that the impact of an organization is determined by the team behind it.
What Remains After a Day of Play and Generosity?
After the event, the participants were left with more than just smiles and good energy, but also with beautiful memories and the feeling that things can change for the better. The children learned that there are things they can do with their own hands and enjoyed every moment. The activities were designed to show the children how beautiful it can be to collaborate with others, and how joy is amplified when we share it. The parents were also delighted because their children participated in a meaningful educational experience.
The event also resulted in many donations that are used to help vulnerable children and youths.
A BIG Thank you! to the Participating Children and Parents, Volunteers and Partners!
Change always starts with ourselves, but it takes a community for this change to be observable. The success of the event is due to everyone who participated, in any way. From children, parents, volunteers and partners, each one’s role was essential in achieving the beautiful results that the entire Adina Stiftelsen Foundation team is proud of. Every gesture and smile had an impact and contributed to a day in which learning the positive aspects of generosity was key.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us at the Children’s Day event! We thank them for choosing to be there and support this cause!
